  • Amber Darr, A.S.C., Pakistan.

    Amber Darr, A.S.C. is a Barrister-at-Law and an Advocate of the High Court. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales from Lincoln’s Inn in 1997 and has a Bachelor of Arts Cum Laude in Economics (concentration in International Economic Relations) and English Literature (with Honors) from Bryn Mawr College, Pennsylvania, United States of America.

    She started her legal career with Mr. Makhdoom Ali Khan (1997 to 2001) and has also worked with Mr. Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim (2001 to 2005). In 2005 she was appointed as Executive Director (Law), Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan for a period of two years. She returned to practice in 2007 as a Partner at Haidermota & Company and led the Islamabad office of the firm. She now practices independently with ABS & Co and Islamabad. Her practice areas include all corporate and commercial issues with a particular emphasis on regulatory matters. She appears before all major regulators as well as in courts in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.

    In addition to her practice she is interested in raising legal awareness with respect to prevailing social issues and writes regularly for leading newspapers in Pakistan.

    She is also committed to raising the standard of legal practice in Pakistan and has conducted a number of advocacy training workshops in Pakistan in her capacity as the Project Coordinator for the Advocacy Training Programme Pakistan. She is regularly o teach advocacy skills to practicing barristers at the Advanced International Advocacy Training Course held at Keble College Oxford and at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
